The bittersweet alleycat of the Elite
Some things are worth fighting for, and others are not...
The American Curl hated days like this. But she always knew it would come. Sooner or later, it would reach her. And all of a sudden, she wouldn't have anything to do.
Boredom. Complete, utter, absolute boredom. It hit her like a stone in the back of the head.
The she-cat sighed, padding out of a carnival-like tent and tilting her head to look up at the sky. She went to a little solitary place, next to a weird sort of a contraption with a huge tree shading her from the rays of the sun. She knew that the only way to avoid sitting around was to give herself something to do. But it wasn't always easy for a cat who had boundaries. Still, even climbing a tree would be a bit satisfying.
She dug her claws into the brittle bark, and made her way up the tree. It had long limbs with broad leaves, which made it easier to hide in. She sat down for a moment, gazing down at her view of the Elite's home. It was easy to lose yourself in the huge piece of land, but there were too many animals around to get lost.
She felt like she could do anything to take away this feeling of boredom. So not caring anyone would notice, started climbing down the tree, with her body hanging upside down. It was actually like a certain cat she knew that would probably try this. She wasn't crazy. When you're bored, you're driven to perform strange things.
She did it as quickly as she could before ending up back on a branch, thinking of other things to do. She felt like she should go on a hunting patrol, but she didn't want to hunt. It also wasn't like she had many choices of what to do. Maybe she could walk around camp again to find anything of interest. But she was tired of doing the same things.
So she just sat there for a while, undecided, with her paws absently scratching the coarse bark.
But fighting your feelings is the most difficult battle of all.
